you might want to check out kona cotton indigo or navy. you can typically pick it up cheaper out the amounts you're looking at.
fabric depot sends out samples.

Even in the short time I've been working on trying to do some of her blocks, my ideas of what is "right" and/or "do-able" have changed.
It's getting more and more to be "in the manner of Miss Jane" than "an exact duplicate of the Jane A. Stickle quilt"

I can't imagine ever buying 25 yards of fabric... it would cost about $650.
That's why I'm doing a plain white background, I'll be able to get extra yards as I need them.

Hey Klue, am I on your master list?
I received my rulers from the ebay seller you recommended.
I did, however, order the book "Civil War Love Letters" which looks to me like an easier version on the Dear Jane idea.
The thing is, I want to be a part of a BIG group who is all doing the same thing at the same time! Plus, Marinemom's idea about changing the date triangle to the date of my husband's 2009-2010 deployment is such a good one! If this quilt top takes 18 months to finish, he will return home and it will STILL be a UFO! Crazy. hehehehe

Oh, please do put his deployment dates on your quilt. :) It boggles my mind too to know that I will still be working on my son's quilt after he returns safely home. Tough as these guys are, I know there is a soft spot deep in their hearts that is touched when someone they love takes the time to honor their commitment and sacrifies.
